It's not possible to route to the inside rows with this part. Looks like it needs VIPPO on inside signal pins. Has anybody else ran into this and has this part actually been used on an actual board?

Hello Timgroth,
Thank you for your patience while we looked into this.
You're right that the inner row signal pads on this part cannot be routed directly, so via in pad (VIPPO) is typically used to bring those signals to the inner layers.
The footprint was created from the reference file provided by the manufacturer directly, and that reference does not include via in pad. Since via placement depends on PCB fabricator capabilities, design rules, and specific board requirements, we keep vias out of our standard footprints so they can be added based on each project’s needs.
The manufacturer’s recommended pcb layout in the datasheet is a good reference if you need guidance on where to place vias for your design.
Regarding your question about real world use, this footprint follows the official manufacturer reference, and via in pad is a standard and widely used approach for this package type. Once vias are added according to your fabrication rules, it is fully suitable for production use.
Please let us know if you have any further questions. We’re happy to help.
Best Regards

Yes I put the VIPPO in myself only where needed. Since these are expensive pads I think what you have is correct and we put in VIPPO as needed.
